I wonder about the conditioning behind the guilt for others. For me it's an easy culprit to find, I was raised Catholic. It feels like it's wrong of me to put myself first by enjoying my situation, especially since I'm now single in my almost mid-30s after my marriage didn't take off, so there's this pressure like I'm supposed to be sad because I failed at what was expected of me...
Ooooh yes excellent point. I am also plagued with catholic guilt but it manifests in other ways. That’s so interesting though about how it could be to do with putting yourself first. Also so interesting about the pressure to feel sad!! Thanks so much for such a great comment. Lots of food for thought xx
