Today is my 38th birthday. That also means that this newsletter is officially three years old. I sent my first newsletter out on my 35th birthday and wrote about being OK with waking up alone (check out the ‘logo’ I had before I got the professionals in!)
What a fantastic post. I can relate to everything Tola shares here. I experienced the same isolation and loneliness during the lockdowns in London and was very tempted to leave, too. Since things started opening up, I've been trying lots of new things and joining clubs, which has opened up a whole new London, and new friendships for me. Sometimes you just have to take the plunge and I think that when you reach out to community groups, as Tola did when she contacted the church, you find that people really are kind and welcoming.
As someone who has moved to a smaller town after living in LA for 15 years, I can definitely relate to Tola's article! It's also inspiring...I'm encouraged to keep getting out and about and meet more of the folks in my community. :)
Happy Birthday, Nicola!
