Dear Nicola, I've had an accident but don't want to start relying on others for help

Dear Nicola,

I recently had a bike accident that left with me with a dislocated and fractured elbow.

Living on my own during a pandemic, I had to adjust to only having one working arm.

Recently a few people have told me I am too independent as I don't let them help me. I don't agree as I feel like if they help me, how will I do it on my own at home when they aren't around?

Am I wrong?
