Dear Nicola, I'm 27 and have never been in a relationship

Dear Nicola,

I am 27 years old and have never been in a relationship. And not because I don't want to be in one, but rather because of a combination of shyness, awkwardness and not wanting to compromise on attractiveness. I feel so childish next to my friends and younger siblings, and honestly don't know who'll want to date a 27-year-old woman with no experience.

How can I overcome my own shyness and actually meet someone? And how in the world do I tackle this awkward situation of mine once I do meet someone?
